Naas-born West End star Sharon Sexton is performing at the Moat Theatre in Kildare

Naas-born West End star Sharon Sexton is inviting a talented young singer from County Kildare to join her on stage for a special Christmas homecoming concert at the Moat Theatre.

Sharon will return to her hometown on Saturday, December 19, 2026, with her husband and fellow West End performer Rob Fowler for Home for Christmas, a festive evening featuring Christmas favourites, musical theatre classics and spectacular vocals.

Following a sold-out performance at the Moat Theatre in February, the couple are looking forward to sharing the stage with local performers and giving one young singer a memorable opportunity to perform before a live audience.

The concert will also feature the Community Chorus, conducted by Nicola Gainey, bringing together professional performers and local musical talent.

Sharon and Rob are best known for originating the roles of Sloane and Falco in Bat Out of Hell: The Musical, written by Jim Steinman. They have since enjoyed international careers performing in London's West End and on stages across Europe and beyond.

Now based in the UK, Sharon is particularly excited to return to the town where her own performing journey began. She attended St Mary's College in Naas and trained locally with Mona Conroy and Deirdre Brown Dance School before embarking on her professional career.

As part of the concert celebrations, the couple are launching a search for a young singer aged between 10 and 17 who lives or attends school in County Kildare.

The successful entrant will be invited to perform a solo song at the Moat Theatre as part of the December concert.

Young singers are asked to submit a video of themselves performing a song of their choice. Entries will be reviewed by Sharon and Rob, who will select one performer to join them on stage.

The closing date for submissions is Friday, November 20. Entry is free, and full competition guidelines are available at scienceofsinging.co.uk/naas-concert.

Tickets for Home for Christmas are on sale through the Moat Theatre box office.
