Dónal Lunny
The death has occurred of Dónal Lunny, Rathgar, Dublin / Newbridge, Kildare.
Lunny, Dónal (Ráth Garbh, Baile Átha Cliath agus tráth den tsaol as Droichead Nua, Co. Chill Dara). Rugadh: 10 Márta 1947.
D’imigh sé ar shlí na fírinne: 23 Deireadh Fómhair 2026. Fuair sé bás go síochánta i láthair a theaghlaigh ghrámhair.
Fear céile agus anamchara dílis Úna, athair ceanúil agus grámhar d’Oisín, Cora, Sola agus Shane, nach maireann, agus seanathair ionúin ag Phoebe, Eva agus Sol.
Beidh grá go deo ag a theaghlach agus ag a chairde do Dhónal, agus mairfidh a chuimhne go buan i measc a mhná céile, a pháistí, chlann a chlainne, a dheirfiúracha agus a dheartháireacha (Máire, Sheila, Frank, Eveleen, Phelim, Gráinne, Róisín agus Manus), a theaghlaigh sínte, agus go háirithe i measc a chairde ceoil agus an phobail ceoil dhomhanda.
Tá Dónal ar ais anois i gcuideachta a thuismitheoirí grámhara, Frank agus Mary,
agus a mhic ionúin, Shane.
Beidh sochraid Dhónail ar siúl i Séipéal Pharóiste Naomh Conleth i nDroichead Nua (W12 KT38), Dé Sathairn, an 31 Deireadh Fómhair.
Iarrtar oraibh bláthanna fiáine na hÉireann, duilleoga an fhómhair agus clocha a thabhairt in áit bláthanna, le bhur dtoil.
Bheadh teaghlach Dhónail fíorbhuíoch dá dtiocfadh le cairde agus le lucht leanúna a bheith leo trí fhéachaint ar an tsochraid ar an tsruthú beo ar a 11 a chlog; tá spás teoranta sa séipéal agus ní bheidh i láthair ach an teaghlach agus dlúthchairde amháin.
Mar chuimhne ar Dhónal, ba mhaith lena theaghlach daoine ar fud an domhain (agus ar an ghealach féin!) a spreagadh le ceol a sheinm agus a roinnt lena gcairde agus lena dteaghlaigh an deireadh seachtaine seo – le ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ar an áthas agus ar an cheangal a chothaigh ceol Dhónail i measc an oiread sin daoine.
Ná bíodh leisce oraibh bhur gcuid focal agus ceoil féin a roinnt leis an haischlib #donallunnyfleadh
Beidh leabhar comhbhróin poiblí ar fáil le síniú ag Ionad Ealaíon The Riverbank i nDroichead Nua (W12 D962) agus ag Oifigí Chomhairle Contae Chill Dara (W12 X77F). Chomh maith leis sin, is féidir teachtaireachtaí a fhágáil ar líne thíos.

Dónal’s funeral will be in St. Conleth’s Parish Church in Newbridge (W12 KT38) on Saturday October 31.
