and Sarah Muldoon[/caption] John Coughlan Catering has just launched a new food offering called ‘Love Food’ a boutique style catering business that will cater and manage food for weddings, private parties or corporate events. John and his team have now opened a new facility including a large catering kitchen, ‘Food to Go’ pick up service and drop in café in the Link Business Park in Kilcullen Co. Kildare. Over €200,000 has been invested in the facilities to create a state-of-the-art kitchen and catering facility capable of creating the high standard food that John Coughlan and his team have always been known for. John himself is an Irish Master Chef, originally from Dublin, John has travelled all over the world over his forty-year career in a bid to find food inspiration and hone his skills as a chef. Catering for over three decades and John has become known as one of the leading providers of quality food and service for large events all over the country. His company won the title of Event Caterer of the Year in 2016 and 2017 and John himself holds a Culinary Olympic Gold Medal which he won when he captained the Irish Culinary Team in 1994. He has also catered for a distinguished list of dignitaries including Bill Clinton in 1995, 1998 & 2000 as well as Nelson Mandella in 2003, Archbishop Desmond Tutu in 2005 and President Michael D. Higgins during the 1916 commemorations in 2018. The core team at Love Food includes chef Liam Delaney who was the first chef who ever worked for John and is still working with him some 30 years later, and John’s wife Barbara who specialises in menu innovation, operations and logistics along his daughters making it a real family affair. The cooking team are led by chef Jonathan Flynn who also trained as a chef with John and has now worked his way to becoming Head Chef for Love Food. Up to 20 full time staff will be employed by Love Food with up to 300 casual staff working for the company at large events. Speaking at the launch of Love Food, John Coughlan said, “Our philosophy is simple we purchase the best local food available and create innovative menus that are wonderful to look at and delightful to taste. We are also one of the greenest companies in Ireland, recycling over 90% of our waste products and always looking to improve on that figure as technology advances. We are passionate about local foods and our mission to is to source the best possible producers to get great food on to the plates of our discerning customer. The event which was held at Love Food’s new premises in Kilcullen was attended by over 50 guests who dined on an assortment of mouth-watering dishes which included Irish Artisan plates of Tipperary Beef and Organic Kenmare Salmon, along with Smoked Tofu Tacos and Lamb Kofta served with an array of salads followed by sumptuous desserts including Affogato, Lemon & Raspberry Posset and Chocolate Salted Peanut Brownies, all washed down by a beautiful Covinas Tempranillo Syrah Cabernet and Macabeo Sauvignon Blanc.
