James Lammon (43) from Cardington Way in Athy, Co Kildare was further remanded in custody in Cloverhill District Court last week after he was charged with the murder. Local councillors have called on Kildare County Council to install community CCTV cameras in the area of the tragedy. A joint motion before Monday's Athy Municipal District meeting says: "Can the council confirm their plans for the community CCTV in the Woodstock area of Athy given the recent tragic event in the area and the offer by the Gardai to assist with the operation of these cameras?" Cllr Thomas Redmond said: "CCTV cameras in any community can help deter crime as well as help the gardai to investigate it."
