The body of a man (37) found dead at a house in Celbridge was today taken from the scene in a coffin. Garda forensic officers carried the body to a hearse outside the property in Willowbrook Park at about 12.30pm. The Assistant State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis will carry out a post mortem at Naas General Hospital today. Gardai arrested a man in his 20s at the scene in Willowbrook Park off Shackleton Road last night. The victim, who was the father of a young daughter, was discovered with head injuries, and pronounced dead just before 10.30pm. Locals say that the victim is originally from Lucan and lived in Celbridge but did not live at the house.
Supt Gerry Wall (above) of Leixlip Garda Station spoke to the media at the scene and appealed for information from the public on the death.
