Are barking dogs causing a nuisance in your estate? A councillor wants action on the problem.

Barking dogs are causing a nuisance in estates around Maynooth, it was claimed. Mayor of Kildare Cllr Brendan Weld wants action from Kildare County Council on the issue which has been raised by residents' groups. Cllr Daragh Fitzpatrick also called for a policy on stray cats and dogs in Council-owned estates "in the interest of the health and safety of others living in the estates." The issues will be raised at the Maynooth Municipal District meeting in Naas tomorrow. Meanwhile Cllr Weld has also called for tree branches to be cut in the Courtown Estate in Kilcock as they're obscuring public lighting on dark winter mornings and evenings.
