Naas man charged over death of homeless victim to appear in court again after Christmas

A man charged with assault causing harm to a homeless Naas man has been remanded on continuing bail until after Christmas. Paul Gill (35) of Sarto Road in Naas is charged in connection with the death of Patsy 'Bud' Kelly (58) in Naas on August 22 last. The late Mr Kelly was a well-known figure around Naas and a popular character among locals. Mr Gill appeared in Cloverhill District Court today where he was remanded on continuing bail to the same court again on January 8. Paul Gill accused Patsy Kelly Above: Mr Gill at a previous court sitting Under the strict bail conditions set down at a court hearing in late August, Mr Gill had to live at an address given to gardai and sign on three days a week at a garda station. He also had to  surrender his passport and carry a mobile phone which was GPS-tracked and switched on at all times. In addition, Mr Gill could not contact witnesses and had to stay out of Naas unless if required for court sittings.
