Planning permission has been sought for a new restaurant at the rear of Tesco on the Monasterevin Road in Kildare Town. Tesco Ireland wants to locate the premises in a vacant unit which was formerly a butcher's shop. The proposed restaurant will be 207 square metres in size. Tesco bosses believe there is a need for a food and drink outlet close to the store and car park as there is currently only a Costa Coffee cafe in the area.
