Bus-loads of future football and hurling stars took part in Activity Day for under 8 players organised by Leinster GAA this summer. The clubs that took part on August 23 were Round Towers of Kildare Town as well as clubs from Allenwood, Athy, Ballymore and Confey. It was the third Activity Day of the summer which featured thousands of boys and girls. On Tuesday, the Round Towers players got a chance to tog out in the famous Cusack Stand dressing rooms.
They then posed for an official squad photo before running onto the famous Croke Park pitch to display their skills.
The youngsters also met with former Lilywhite star Johnny Doyle - who was recently appointed as Kildare GAA’s Community Development and Participation Officer - who was very generous with his time.
On a very busy day at GAA HQ, six games took place simultaneously each hour from 9am to 4pm. Players later climbed the steps of the Hogan Stand to lift a replica Sam Maguire Cup. Well done to all the players, mentors, referees, stewards and organisers. For more information log onto http://www.leinstergaa.ieSubscribe or register today to discover more from DonegalLive.ie
