Olympic athlete due in Naas court over driving charge

An Olympic sailor charged with dangerous driving in Blessington is due in court in Naas soon. Finn Lynch (20) of Benekerry, Co Carlow has returned from competing in the Rio games where fellow sailor Annalise Murphy won a silver medal. Finn Lynch Mr Lynch appeared in Naas District Court in January last and Judge Desmond Zaidan put his case put back until after the Olympics. He is now due in court on September 15 to face a charge of a driving offence which occurred in Hollyvalley, Blessington on December 21, 2014. Defence solicitor Conal Boyce told Judge Zaidan at the time that his client was training for the Olympics and was abroad for long periods of time. My Lynch had just returned from training in Rio de Janeiro at that point. Judge Zaidan adjourned the case until September 15.
