Garda appeal over final hours of young mum found dead in squat

Gardaí have appealed for information after the body of a 22-year-old woman was found in Cork city yesterday. Tragic Amy McCarthy's body was found at a derelict premises on Sheares Street. Gardaí say they are appealing to anyone with information, particularly anyone who can help in tracing the whereabouts and movements of Ms McCarthy, who has a young child, from Saturday afternoon to yesterday morning. A post-mortem examination has been carried out and a preliminary report is with investigating gardaí. Details of the post-mortem are not being released for operational reasons. Gardaí say they are investigating all of the circumstances of the death. No arrests have been made to date.
