Getting the action underway was fifth year Adam McInerney in the Senior 3000m Walk, when he finished with a Silver medal following a PB. Another Silver medal was on the way to Newbridge shortly afterwards, when first year Alex O’Shea, competing in his first National championships, finished runner-up in the 75m Hurdles. It’s been a phenomenal first year for Alex at this level, as he has claimed the South Leinster & Leinster titles in recent weeks. The third Silver of the afternoon was claimed by fifth year Mark Glynn in the Senior 800m. Mark was a little unlucky to be beaten for Gold, after a fantastic performance.
Johnny McKenna claimed gold. The fifth places went the way of Lucas Moylan and Patrick Corrigan. Lucas competed in both the Intermediate High Jump & Long Jump and he had a PB in the Long Jump. Patrick also had a PB in the Shot Putt. The future is bright for the team as all but McKenna will compete in the championships next year.
