Kilkea Castle finally begins re-opening as Golf Club is ready for business

Kilkea Castle began the process of re-opening yesterday after extensive refurbishments. The resort's Golf Club officially opened to the public. The Castle has also been sharing the menus of its Jay's Bistro Menu and the Octagon Bar & Restaurant. The 12th Century Castle, Kilkea is one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland with history dating back to 1180. It has always slated 'Summer 2017' as the date for its long-awaited re-opening. The venue also saw the delivery of a branded courtesy car in recent days.     A spokesperson said: "We hope to see you soon! Available for private parties weddings and events." Kilkea Castle is also taking part in the 3-week Kildare Walking Festival on Thursday.
