Family marking anniversary of Naas student murdered abroad

The family of a Naas native murdered abroad is marking the anniversary of his tragic death this week. Trevor O'Keeffe was a 19-year-old student who was killed while hitch-hiking in France in August 1987. His body was found in a shallow grave. Trevor's mother Eroline campaigned for years to have chief suspect, French soldier Pierre Chanal put on trial for the murder of her son. But Chanal took his own life in a prison hospital in 2003. Eroline later wrote a book 'Fatal Journey' on the tragic death and her campaign for justice.
