Vodafone’s Gigabit Broadband arrives in Naas today

By Kim O'Leary Vodafone’s Gigabit Broadband has arrived in Naas today with the aim of improving and enhancing Kildare customers' experience online. This revolutionary next generation fibre to the home (FTTH) broadband, delivers speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (1000Mbps) making it the most powerful broadband service on the market and the first of its kind technology in Ireland. Designed to connect the user to the things that matter to them, Vodafone’s Gigabit Broadband provides congestion free connectivity across multiple devices in the home, at any time of the day, at unrivalled speeds. For example, a two-hour HD movie, which would take upwards of 12 minutes to download on an average consumer connection of 100Mbps, can be downloaded in under a minute. This gives Vodafone customers valuable time back and allows them to enjoy all the benefits of broadband without the stress of slow download speeds. Streaming is seamless in the home with Vodafone Gigabit Broadband, so waiting for your favourite shows to load will be a thing of the past! The network is so fast that a whopping 132 HD Netflix Videos could be streamed at once. This rollout of Gigabit Broadband is part of Vodafone’s strategy to enhance its Irish customers’ broadband experience and connectivity with the latest technology, and to continue providing the best services available into the future. Gigabit Broadband will be available in Bodenstown, Castlesize, Naas Town, Oldtown Demesne, Osberstown and Sallins from our promotional price of €25 for the first six months. Offer valid until February 28, 2018. To celebrate the arrival of Gigabit Broadband in Naas, Vodafone will host a special retail launch, which will take place in the Vodafone store in Monread Shopping Centre. Pop in and check out our virtual reality experience powered by SIRO, showcasing the benefits of Gigabit Broadband and how it can transform lives all over the country. There will also be plenty of in-store activities, interactive competitions and a live roadcaster outside to keep you entertained. All attendees will receive a complimentary Vodafone goodie bag on the day. Commenting Ciaran Barrett, Head of Consumer Segment at Vodafone said: “We are delighted to announce the arrival of our Gigabit Broadband to Naas today. Our vision is to create a Gigabit society which provides Irish homes and businesses with superfast connectivity which is on a par with the leading digital hubs in the world. Today’s launch in Naas marks another step towards this goal with further launches across cities and towns across Ireland planned later this year.” “Gigabit Broadband enables you to futureproof your home, as the demand for data increases with the communication revolution. Our Gigabit Broadband is unique in that it allows users to connect to multiple devices without any loss in connectivity, even at peak times. Our research has told us that this was a particular issue for busy families where you may have five or six people connecting to the internet at once. So, whether someone is downloading a TV show, streaming audio or surfing the internet, everyone in the household can enjoy the same seamless service. There really is no place like a Vodafone home!” Vodafone Gigabit Broadband is powered by SIRO, a joint venture between ESB and Vodafone. Gigabit speeds are delivered using the existing electricity network bringing 100% fibre broadband directly into your home or business.
