A woman whose husband had an affair after 32 years of marriage appeared before Naas District Court today. Sgt Brian Jacob outlined how the other woman, who was having an affair with her husband, got 'bombarded' with calls and texts, by the accused. The court heard that between January 19, 2016, and April 30, 2017, hundreds of calls and texts were made. Sgt Jacob said: "The messages and calls were not threatening, it was the volume of them. Her husband was having an affair and she was upset about it." Defence Solicitor, Séamus Boyle said:"After 32 years of marriage, her husband had an affair. This was the first time that this happened. My client was very upset, she was ruled by the heart, rather than the head." The court heard how the mother of adult children is now back in good terms with her husband. Defence said: "She is embarrassed by this." Judge Desmond Zaidan said that the court accepts that the accused was the 'victim of an extra marital affair.' The Probation Act Section 1(1) was imposed. He ordered that she is to have no contact with the injured party.
