This week’s episode of TV3’s Ireland’s Got Talent will see 11 new acts grace the country’s biggest stage, including Trinity Ath Í are a dance troupe from Athy.
They have performed everywhere from The Ploughing Championships to China, Prague, and France. This might not be their biggest stage but it’s their most important.
On last week’s show, presenter Lucy Kennedy chose her Golden Buzzer act, smooth singing country sensation Christopher King from Limerick. She found his ‘swoonsome’ good looks and honey vocals irresistible, describing him as “perfect” in every way. All the Golden Buzzers have now been chosen and Christopher joins the nation’s favourite great grandmother, Evelyn Williams (81), mum of two and singing sensation, Linda McLoughlin (38), Xquisite, the super cute mini ballroom dancers and Jason Byrne’s accidental choice, drag act Martin McGuinness, in the Semi-Finals.
This Saturday night will see more hopefuls take to the stage, some talented, and some not so talented, as Ireland’s biggest and most diverse talent search continues on TV3 at 7.30pm.
In episode 6:
There is no doubt that Ireland’s Got Talent has showcased some outstanding talent and one group that have really shined bright are the senior citizens of this country – from 81 year old Evelyn Williams, 79 year old Pat Glynn and 78 year old Philip Murphy. This Saturday is no exception, as 68 year old Matt Dodd fromBallyfermot, Dublin, takes to the stage.
Matt is a singing bus driver who was encouraged to enter the competition by his grandchildren, who are eagerly cheering him on from the wings. Do we have another golden oldie on our hands?
Michelle Visage is undoubtedly the ‘mummy’ of the drag acts, in fact most of them get overwhelmed when they stand on stage in front of her. Can Paul Ryder(30) from Tallaght be the one to do just that? Paul is a dance teacher and choreographer by day, and a drag act by night.
He has already come to the attention of RuPaul, who once tweeted a clip of his act. However, Paul’s biggest fan was his father who sadly passed away in 2014 and who was always at the front of the audience cheering him on. Paul has brought some of his dance students as his back up dancers, so this is sure to be an unforgettable and undoubtedly emotional performance.
Tune in to Ireland’s Got Talent this Saturday 10th March at 7.30pm, followed by Ireland’s Got Mór Talent at 8.30pm.
