GALLERY: GOAL Mile hosted at Ballymore GFC club today

Despite the damp, foggy weather, there was still a good turn out at Ballymore Eustace GFC grounds this am for the deferred GOAL Mile Walk. Organised every year by Mark McCarville and the GAA committee on Christmas morning, alas, this year, many of the organisers were hit by the vomiting bug so it was thought best to defer it to New Year's Day, in the interest of health and safety. As always, Club Chair Natasha Graham and family were out to support and participate - and pour the tea, of course! Great to see youngsters at the field making the effort, amongst them young Odhran Gilroy, up from Limerick for the New Year. Odhran joined Grandad Eugene Gilroy, an avid GAA supporter and an experienced hill walker - a mile walk on the flat is a mere toddle for the former BME Person of the Year winner! "Many thanks to Mark for organising this yet again" said Natasha "And to all who supported and did the walk, despite the rain and damp". Also supporting the event was Mark Barrett, All Ireland U20 Kildare team member, joined by GAA stalwarts, his parents Bernie and Eoin Barrett, along with younger brother Tadhg.
