Two Co Kildare acts will battle it out in first of live semi-finals on 'Ireland's Got Talent' this weekend

It will be a busy weekend ahead for three talented Kildare natives as mother and son singing duo Brandon and Sharon Webb and young magician Aidan McCann will compete in the first of three live semi-finals shows on ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ this Saturday, March 30. After blowing the celebrity judges away with their stellar duet to Calum Scott and Leona Lewis’ ‘You Are The Reason’ during their audition, mother-son singing duo Brandon and Sharon Webb landed a spot straight in the live shows when they received the Golden Buzzer and the video of their audition now has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube. The Kildare natives’ performance was especially poignant after college student Brandon (19) had a terrifying health scare last year after a night out with friends left him in a coma and on life support, fighting for his life with his family including devoted mum Sharon by his side. Brandon has described his near-death experience as a ‘second chance at life’ and he feels that music is his calling. Speaking to KildareNow this week ahead of the live shows semi-final, Sharon Webb said: “We’re very excited for the semi-final, we can’t wait and we’re doing plenty of rehearsing. We have our song picked and it’s just a matter of getting on the stage now on Saturday hopefully.” “Being on the show has been great and Brandon is very excited, it’s given him a great focus after his health scare and we’re looking forward to it,” she added.   [caption id="attachment_272421" align="alignnone" width="346"] Host Lucy Kennedy pressed the Gold Buzzer sending mum and son Sharon and Brandon Webb into live semi-final[/caption]     Meanwhile, young magician Aidan McCann from Maynooth is hoping to woo the audience again with a few new tricks up his sleeve. His proud mum Noelle told KildareNow that Aidan has shown a keen interest in magic since the age of five and he soon got into card tricks when he was 7 after watching YouTube videos of his heroes Dynamo and Keith Barry. “He’s so excited for the semi-final and he’s practicing all the time. He loves magic and he loves to see peoples’ reactions to his tricks, he loves to show his tricks to a new audience. He’s really branched out into the card tricks and the first thing he does is say to friends when we’re out ‘do you want to see a magic trick?’”explained Noelle. According to his mum, Aidan is never without a deck of cards in his pocket. He also likes to show his school friends his tricks and he is a third-class pupil at St Mary’s BNS Maynooth. “It’s lovely to see a child so passionate about something like this and Aidan absolutely loves performing his magic tricks, making them his own and seeing the audience’s reaction to them and we’re all very excited for the live finals,” said his mum Noelle. Make sure to cheer on Sharon, Brandon and Aidan in the first of three live finals by tuning into ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ on Virgin Media One this coming Saturday, March 30 at 7.30pm.
