Kildare give confident performance over Wicklow in Round 3 of the Kehoe Cup

Kildare  3-20 Wicklow 0-10 Kildare hurlers gave a confident performance today against Wicklow in Round 3 of the Bord na Mona Kehoe Cup (loser’s group). As Kildare footballers put in a lacklustre performance against Westmeath in Mullingar, losing by 6 pts, hurling fans at St Conleth's saw a determined Kildare side ensure there was no comeback for the Garden County. A notable return to the team today was James Burke (Naas), who scored one of Kildare’s goals, along with Brian Byrne (Naas) and super sub, Ryan Casey of Coill Dubh. Kildare lead by 0-08 to 0-07 at half time, with their opponents from the Garden County still very much in contention. However, on resumption of play, the Lilywhites completely dominated with goals from Byrne, Burke and Casey killing off any hopes of a comeback from Wicklow.
