Former journalist and campaigner Charlie Bird has been remembered as a “hero and a legend” who was “brave beyond words” at a service to celebrate his life in Dublin's Mansion House today.
Family, friends and ex-colleagues of the former RTE correspondent gathered in Dublin’s Mansion House to remember and pay tribute to the renowned broadcaster. Members of the public also attended the service for the 74-year-old, who died this week after a high-profile battle with motor neurone disease (MND).
Among the high-profile mourners were Joe Duffy, Miriam O'Callaghan, Dermot Bannon, Sean O'Rourke, David McCullagh and Bryan Dobson, among many others.
