There has been an increase in the number of patients without beds at Naas Hospital today and the figure has risen to 20 patients currently on trolleys at the hospital.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) there are 20 patients receiving treatment on trolleys at Naas Hospital with 16 in the emergency department and 4 on wards elsewhere. This is an increase by 25% from yesterday when there were 15 patients without beds at the Kildare facility.
Nationwide there are 469 patients waiting for beds at hospitals around the country and the worst hit hospitals include:
- University Hospital Limerick-53
- University Hospital Cork-50
- South Tipperary General Hospital-36
