This Thursday marks 22 years since the disappearance of a young woman in Co Kildare.

On November 9, 22 years ago, Jo Jo Dullard was last seen.

She  was 21 years of age at the time of her disappearance and  made a phonecall from a phonebox in Moone Co Kildare, on November 9, 1995. A short time later a woman answering Jo Jo's description was seen leaning in the back door of a dark coloured Toyota Carina type car. There were further sightings of a woman similar to Jo Jo in Castledermot, Co. Kildare, at around mid -night. The driver or occupants of this Toyota Carina type car have never been traced. That was the last that anyone has heard from her. When she never reached her destination, her family became concerned and reported her missing to the Gardaí. She was last seen wearing black jeans, a black jacket, white top and black shoes.

Her devastated siblings  have never given up searching for her. Christmas is a particularly difficult time of year for Jo Jo's family.

Her sister Kathleen Bergin said: "We dread this time of year. We celebrate Christmas for our grandchildren. There is an emptiness without Jo Jo. She is always in our hearts."

From Callan, Co Kilkenny, Jo Jo was raised by her older siblings as her father died before she was born, and her mother died when she was just 10.

Jo Jo had gone to Dublin to collect her last social welfare payment and was returning to her homeplace, when she disappeared, last seen in Moone. She had moved home to Callan some months earlier,  and was working in a restaurant, as she was finding it difficult to fund her hairdressing course.

Her sister describes her as a 'very kind hearted and bubbly young woman.'

Ms Bergin is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

She said: "Why are people not coming to help us? How long do we have to go on pleading for information. Sometimes you lose hope, we have to fight on, we want to bring Jo Jo home."
