More than 2,000 people have been left without electricity this evening in an area of Newbridge following a power outage.

In total, there are 2,239 people in the Morristown area without electricity since shortly before 6pm this evening. The ESB report that a fault in the line has caused the outage and they are currently working to restore electricity to homes and businesses in the area. It is estimated that the fault will be repaired by 9:30 tonight.

Some businesses in the area have had to turn customers away as a result of the absence of electricity. The ESB have apologised for any inconvenience caused.
