A total of 60 bids were recorded when the Malt House in Monasterevin and surrounding heritage buildings went to auction this afternoon.
The site, which comprised of four heritage buildings and a land holding, was offered as one lot and was sold for €338,000 after bidding had initially opened at €240,000. The large site has the potential for a range of uses, with a mixed use building, a two bedroom bungalow and a house and stables all detailed within the description of the property.
The total size of the site is 2.73 acres, and it was broken down into the following before entering the online Allsop auction on Thursday morning.
- The Malt House is arranged over ground and two upper floors to provide a mixed use building. Internally the property comprises grain stores and ancillary accommodation at ground floor level together with three overhead apartments.
- The bungalow is arranged over ground floor only to provide a two bedroom residential accommodation.
- The Coach House is arranged over ground and one upper floor to provide residential accommodation and stables to the rear.
