76 new homes will be constructed in Naas in the coming months after Kildare County Council granted planning permission to contractors looking to develop a new residential estate in the Osberstown area.
Springwood Limited issued planning documents to Kildare County Council last November requesting permission for the development, and after additional information on the project was supplied in May the council recently gave the green light for the construction to go ahead.
The residential development will consist of three 4-bedroom three-storey town houses and nine 3-bedroom two-storey town houses in three blocks, two 4-bedroom three-storey town houses and six 3-bedroom two-storey town houses in two blocks. The largest part of the development will see the construction of 36 3-bedroom two-storey semi-detached houses in eighteen blocks, along with four 2-bedroom two-storey town houses in one block (Block C1), eight 3-bedroom two-storey town houses in two blocks, eight 2-bedroom two-storey apartments in two blocks.
There will also be a single-storey creche erected on the site, and a single-storey scouts den will also be built.
The vehicular and pedestrian access to this proposed new development shall be through the existing Old Bridge housing estate.
The expected cost of the project is €7.1 million.
