The planning application was originally submitted to the council on September 7 of this year by Woodfort CFS Ltd on behalf of Receiver for Slievemore Homes Limited in Receivership for EXPP - Extension of Duration, and the council recently gave the green light for the project.
It is expected to cost in the region of €6.5 million to complete.
The 80 homes will consist of 36 two-storey 3/4 bed semi-detached houses, 12 two-storey 3 bed semi-detached houses and 32 two-storey 3 bed townhouses in blocks.
