Aldi store in Kildare closing for 5 days to make big changes

Aldi Kildare will shut its doors to customers at 8pm on Saturday, March 30 for refurbishments.

The outlet will reopen at 9am on Thursday, April 4.

Aldi had previously been granted planning permission in 2016 to build a new bakery at its premises on Grey Abbey Road.

Posters notifying customers of the closure have been erected in recent days.

Proposed was a 50 square-metre single-storey, flat roof extension the the north side of the existing supermarket.

A new sign and changes to the car park were also planned as part of the development.

The total site will span over half an hectare.
