A farmer in Kildare had his tractor and other farming machinery stolen from his property over the new year period.

The theft happened at an out-farm near Clane according to the Farmers Journal, and there was also a frontloader and bale spike taken from the premises.

The stolen tractor is a 1982 John Deere 3040 and was mainly used for carrying round bales of silage, while the frontloader was a Tanco 978.

The theft took place while the owner of the farm was away, and Gardaí in Naas are appealing to anyone with information on the theft to come forward and contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884300.
