Appeals for help from Co Kildare Animal Shelter

On Sunday, 3 September, the KWWSPCA ANIMAL SHELTER in Oldtown, Athgarvan will be hosting an OPEN DAY from 12 noon to 4pm.  It will be a chance for people to visit and see the work that is done by the Society at the Shelter and to meet some of the dogs in its care.

There will be stalls selling a variety of products, amusements for the children and light refreshments will be served.  Everyone is welcome; free admission, there is lots of free parking but please do not bring your own dogs - there will be plenty of rescue dogs there needing your attention.

A fun afternoon whilst raising some much needed funds for the animal shelter. Noah’s Ark and Second Chance, the two KWWSPCA Charity Shops, will be selling a range of items including jewellery from ‘The Cleo Collection’ and hand-made dog beds.

Tents - we need to borrow some tents or garden marquees if anyone can lend one to us.  The more the better, in case the weather is bad.

Bottles - we are having a bottle stall so we need lots of bottles (full, not empty!): wine, water, tomato ketchup, champagne, sauces, etc!!  Jam jars filled with sweets or dog treats or bath salts are great on the table as well. A variety of everything in a bottle is most acceptable.  Volunteers to run the stall are also needed.

Cakes: We will have a cake stall and will also be serving teas and light refreshments, so we would be very grateful if any of our supporters could do some baking for us - cakes, pies, biscuits.  They can be delivered on the Saturday or on Sunday, Open Day. Call 087 680 3295 or 087 127 9835 for more information. Rememeber, our KWWSPCA 15th Wag & Bone Dog Show will be hosted at Punchestown on Sunday, 17 September. Show starts at 2pm, entries taken from 1pm.
