Kildare County Council has given the green light for the construction of a new extension at the community centre in Ardclough.
Planning permission has been granted for the development of an extension that will cost in the region of €100,000 and will feature a cafe, among other things.
Ardclough Village Centre Limited are carrying out the works on the existing Ardclough Village Community Centre, and it will consist of works outside and inside the premises.
A new vehicle entrance and modified carpark layout will be built, while an existing single storey flat roof entrance porch and gable wall to existing store room will be demolished, along with the removal of five windows on the rear elevation.
A new fully serviced single storey extension to accommodate an entrance reception / arts and crafts display area (30sq.m) will be constructed, as will a new fully serviced single-storey extension to accommodate a Cafe (25 sqm.) with associated external patio terrace. There will also be internal modifications within the existing building to accommodate a Heritage Centre and ancillary accommodation.
