WATCH: Sweet moment between Cillian Murphy and his wife as he wins Golden Globe

A sweet moment between Cillian Murphy and his wife was captured as he won the Golden Globe for Best Actor last night (December 7).

Murphy - who won for his stunning performance as Robert J Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer - had been nominated alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Colman Domingo, and fellow Irish actors Barry Keoghan and Andrew Scott.

After Murphy was announced as the winner, his wife Yvonne - who wore a dark shade of red lipstick - kissed him, before hastily rubbing the makeup off his face.

Murphy appeared unaffected and was all smiles as he walked on stage to give his acceptance speech.

Speaking on stage, Murphy said, "Oh boy. First question, do I have lipstick all over my nose? I'm just going to leave it.

"I knew the first time I walked on a Chris Nolan set that it was different. I could tell by the level of vigour, focus, the level of dedication and the complete lack of seating options for actors. I was in the hands of a visionary director and master and I want to thank Chris and Emma for having faith in me for 20 years."

He continued: "To all my fellow nominees, if you're Irish or not, you're all legends. To all my reps, all my team, thank you so much. You're the best. To my family, I'm the luckiest man. Love you, thanks so much guys."
