Work is due to begin soon on major works to redevelop St Conleth's Park county GAA grounds in Newbridge.

The existing covered stand building will be demolished as well as the club house, the scoreboard and a section of the front boundary wall and turnstiles.

Being developed is a new 2-storey covered stand building with facilities within the stand comprising spectator seating, players’ and officials’ changing areas, spectators’ concourses, toilet areas, first-aid administrative offices and a multi-purpose room.

The designs include VIP/meeting areas, hospitality and bar serving facilities; confectionery/snack-bar facilities and stores.

A new entrance plaza will be built incorporating a single storey stand-alone ticket office (30 sqm) and turnstiles with associated hoardings and signage.

Pedestrian access will be opened up through the existing stone archway on the Athgarvan Road.

The pitch size will also be increased from 139m x 81.4m to approximately 143.5 x 83m.

A scoreboard and flood lighting are also in the documents.
