'Best wedding present ever' for Sallins publican this week

The 'best wedding present ever' has been been granted to a Sallins publican this week.

Barry Flanagan and his fiance Ola Miske are now in Poland before their wedding this weekend. They have now been granted permission to transform their gastro pub Lock 13 into a brewery.

Already Barry and Ola run the successful gastropub Lock 13 which specialises in selling local food with a difference and prides itself on its craft beer collection. Late 2014 Barry set about researching the potential to opening a brewery at Lock 13. Whilst Barry knew he appreciated tasting good quality beers he also realised he needed the beer making expertise. Enter stage right….. Brendan Murphy or Brendan the Brewer as he is more commonly known as! Winner of the Best Brewer at the National Brewing Championship in 2014 and 2016, there is nothing that this man doesn’t know about beer.

So all going well later this year or early spring 2017 visitors to Kildare Brewing Company at Lock 13 in Sallins can expect to taste some great beers from an award winning brewer, enjoy a tour of the brewery and learn all about the process.
