After a bitterly cold weekend and a dour start to the week, this weekend is set to be mostly pleasant as mild spells return around Kildare and the temperatures rise slightly.
Cold and clear this evening and early tonight with a widespread frost and lows of -2 to +2 degrees. Later in the night outbreaks of showery rain will gradually spread southwards from Ulster. Light to moderate northwest winds.
Saturday will be a bright day that will remain mainly dry, but also with a scattering of showers. Highs of 5-7 degrees in moderate westerly breezes.
Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with some rain and drizzle developing in the west overnight. Lowest temperatures of 3-6 degrees.
Sunday will be much milder than recently with outbreaks of rain. Highest temperatures of 8-11 degrees with moderate southwest winds, veering west to northwest and easing later as the rain clears. Sunday night will be cold with frost in places, especially further north.
