Body discovered following search of river in Newbridge today

A body has been discovered during the search for a missing man in the Newbridge area today.

Gardaí have confirmed to KildareNow that a body was discovered during their search of the River Liffey in Newbridge this morning.

KildareNow understands that the body discovered was that of a male and that it was in the Great Connell area of the town.

Members of the Garda Water Unit and Kildare Civil Defence members have been carrying out searches for missing Khalid Elmusbahi who has not been seen since October 28.

An appeal was launched on October 30 to help locate the 35-year-old and those appeals were renewed once again this morning.

Gardaí have not yet identified the body but investigations are continuing.
