Kildare County Council is being asked to issue a firm timeline for the construction of  Newbridge Skatepark.

The site, which is located at Moorefield Park, will contain a public skatepark which will be available for all in the area to use and will be the first of its kind in Newbridge.

Garden Escapes Ltd have been appointed to carry out the job of developing the skatepark. The Ballynahinch based company are skilled in the provision of outdoor fitness and sports areas for all age groups.

They have worked with councils, schools and sports clubs across the country, providing a range of facilities that help people to become more active including outdoor gyms and Multi Use Games Areas.

Two councillors, Sean Power and Morgan McCabe, are, separately, asking for answers on the long-awaited facility.

Both motions are to be debated at this afternoon’s meeting of the Kildare/Newbridge Municipal District.
