Calls have been made to the Department of Education and Skills from Fiona O’Loughlin, TD for Kildare South for the reasons why the extension to the Community College in Athy has not yet progressed.
Deputy O’Loughlin has called for an update on the matter from the Minister due to the lack of progress since the extension was agreed six months ago. Speaking on this O’Loughlin said, “The extension to the Athy Community College was agreed six months ago; it was one of eight projects across the Education Training Board and yet there has been no progress to date. The Minister and the Department of Education and Skills must provide an update on this and begin the process as soon as possible."
Deputy O’Loughlin said:“I have submitted questions to the Minister for its current status and I’m calling on the Minister to proceed with the new build. The extension has been a long time coming for the town and is essential for continued development for the area.”
