A Co Kildare Cllr is appealing for the Department of Defence to use some of the 'suitable houses in the Curragh Camp under the repair and leasing scheme.
Cllr Joanne Pender said:"That given the extent and seriousness of the housing crisis", the council should investigate the possibility of entering into an agreement with the Department of Defence to use some of the suitable houses in the Curragh Camp under the repair and leasing scheme.
It is understood that there are approximately 20 boarded up houses at The Curragh Camp that were previously used by members of the Defence Forces and their families.
