Kildare Co Council said that its Environment Department has identified three particular blackspot areas in the vicinity of Celbridge.

Officials said a number of clean-ups have taken place and the Council is working with the local community to implement measures that will eliminate illegal dumping and littering.

One of these measures is the ongoing use of CCTV technology to assist in the identification of offenders.

The Council said that reports of illegal dumping should be made to its Litter Report Freephone: tel 1800 243 143.

The issue was raised by Councillor Michael Coleman who called for resources be allocated to tackle fly-tipping black-spots in Celbridge.
