Co Kildare Judge appeals with woman not to rely on GPS

A Co Kildare Judge appealed with a young woman before Kilcock District Court not to rely on GPS.
The woman, who appeared at Kilcock District Court, was caught driving at 74km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.
In court, the accused, who was driving a car, registered in her husband's name, claimed in court that there are no 50km zone signs at Manor Mills, Maynooth.
She said: "I have taken videos to show that there is not a 50km zone."
Garda Deirdre Barry told the court how there is a 50km zone on the Moyglare Road and then changes to 80km and then goes down coming near the housing estates.
The accused said: "I have video evidence to show the GPS."
Garda Barry said: "In fairness to the lady, her GPS showed the Moyglare townland rather than the Moyglare Road. She believes that she was correct."
Judge Desmond Zaidan said: "Don't trust GPS, it says you reached the destination and your turn left into a wall. It is not accurate."
The accused was fined €150, with two months to pay, she opted to pay in a lump sum.
