A man found in possession of a laptop stolen from a Co Kildare school appeared at Naas District Court today.
The accused who appeared in court, pleaded guilty, to being in possession of a laptop that had been stolen.
Detective Garda Seamus Doyle outlined how a Toshiba laptop was found. It is understood that this laptop had been stolen from Rathangan Girls National School, on January 4, 2016.
Defence Solicitor, Matt Byrne, outlined that his client 'should have known better.'
The court heard how the accused has two children and has no previous convictions.
Mr Byrne said: "I am surprised to see him before the court."
Detective Doyle said that it was 'reckless'.
Judge David Waters ordered that the accused pay €250 to the court poor box, by April 27. If the €250 is paid then charges will be struck out, if not then he will be convicted and fined €250.
