A new state of the art playground is on the pipeline for a Co Kildare town that has suffered the impact of vandalism.

Deputy Mayor of Naas speaking to KildareNow revealed plans for a 'whole new playground' in Naas.

The playground at Monread has been targeted by vandals over the years.

According to Deputy Brett, the fence surrounding the playground at Monread is 'too low'. He suggested that the fence surrounding the playground in Monread is as high as the one surrounding the  playground in Kill.

He said: "We are completely upgrading the playground."

There are proposals for new equipment and also to move the playground closer to the roads.

Appeals are now in place for Kildare County Council to install CCTV at the playground in Monread.
