A North Kildare woman was the first to welcome home lengendary Shane Finn, who has now completed 24 marathons in 24 days.
Celbridge resident, Mary Evans, is a cousin of the legendary marathon runner, has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.
On crossing the line, Finn stopped to embrace the Celbridge woman while a large crowd applauded and cheered his return to his native town.
The marathon fundraiser began his 1,008km route in Donegal 24 days ago.
Passing through Co Kildare on day 13 of the 24 marathons, Finn’s target of €100,000 raised had been reached with support continuing to be received.
