It's set to be a cold day ahead with some rain later in the evening for Co Kildare, with Met Eireann warning that tonight will see freezing conditions developing for much of the country.
There'll be rain for a time, clearing this morning with drier, brighter weather following then showers will develop for the afternoon, some heavy with a slight risk of thunder and turning wintry over the high hills and mountains.
Temperatures will be just 4 or 5 degrees at best and it will feel noticeably cooler in a freshening northwest wind later in the day, mostly dry.
Meanwhile, Met Eireann said: "Tonight will be mostly dry with just isolated showers. Temperatures will fall below freezing for all areas, down to between minus 1 and minus 2 degrees. Winds will be fresh to strong northwest to west and later becoming northerly."

Tomorrow, Thursday, will be mostly dry. Temperatures will once again be 4 or 5 degrees in the afternoon at best and winds will be light to moderate northerly, becoming light variable for a time and freshening from the south later.
The freshening southerly winds will become strong southeasterly on Thursday night ahead of rain developing in the west. Temperatures will be below freezing in places and the rain will be preceded for a time by a fall of snow as it spreads eastwards across the country.
The rain in the east will clear on Friday morning and it'll be mainly dry with sunny spells, although once again showers will affect western and northern coastal areas. Winds will be light southerly with temperatures of between 6 and 8 degrees, falling on Friday night to between minus 1 degrees in the south and plus 3 degrees in the north.
