The construction of a new school in north Kildare should commence by early next year after the Minister fir Education, Richard Bruton, stated that the final process of the planning is being undertaken at the moment.
The new Educate Together school will be located on the Celbridge Road, and the final grant of planning permission is now being awaited.
The Minister has advised Kildare North Labour representative Emmet Stagg that the initial grant of planning permission for the new permanent school was received on 27th July last and that the final grant of permission is awaited.
The Minister further advised that when the final grant of permission is received the project will then proceed to tender stage in the final quarter of 2017 and that construction will commence in early 2018.
Welcoming this positive news that construction should commence in early 2018, Mr Stagg congratulated the Board of Management of the school on progressing the project to this stage. The school he stated recently celebrated their 10 anniversary.
