The crime occurred during daylight hours

A pair of burglars who targeted a County Kildare residence gained entry by pretending to be doctors.

The incident was highlighted by Garda Brian Carroll during a recent guest appearance on KFM.

He told host Hannah Kelly that the crime occurred in the Killinane region of Kilcullen on Thursday, August 20 last.

After falsely claiming to be doctors, the pair proceeded to steal a box full of money from the premises.

Gda Carroll added that this stolen item was later recovered, and has also been forwarded for forensic analysis.

However, he concluded by emphasising that AGS is still urging anyone with information relating to the incident to contact Kilcullen Garda Station on 045 481 212.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this crime, a spokesperson for AGS responded: “Gardaí attended the scene of a burglary at a residential premises in Killinane, County Kildare that occurred at approximately 4pm on Thursday, August 20 last.”

The spokesperson further said that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
