Tributes have flowed in for an 'absolute gentleman', Kildare man who passed away this week

Tributes have poured in on the passing of Joe Keogh, The Derries, Edenderry, Offaly / Rathangan, Kildare.

Late of Ballysooghan Rathangan, Joe passed unexpectedly at home.

Predeceased by his wife Kathleen, parents Thomas and Rose and sister Margaret.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family: son Martin, daughter-in-law Aisling, grandchildren Martin Jnr, Rebecca and Anthony, sister-in-law Betty, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, relatives and friends.

Many heartfelt condolences for Joe were posted on RIP.ie., including: “Sincere sympathy to Martin Ashling and family on the death of Joe, to his extended family may his soul rest in peace.”

Another mourner wrote: “Sorry to hear Joe has passed away. He was an absolute gentleman. I remember him well when I worked in office in Lullymore Heritage park. A quiet unassuming Man. Rest in Peace Joe.”

Still another wrote: “Deepest sympathy to Martin , Aisling & family on the passing of Joe , a great man for the GAA & the History of the area RIP Joe.”

Finally, another mourner wrote: “Our deepest sympathies to the Keogh family on the sad passing of Joe. One of the last of a great generation on that road. May he Rest in Peace.”

Joe will repose at Larkin's Funeral Home Edenderry on Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm with Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon at St. Mary's Church, Edenderry, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
