Tributes have been paid to a Kildare woman who passed recently, who has been remembered as being 'beautiful inside and out.'

Catherine Strickland (née MaGee), Maynooth, Co Kildare and formerly of Lucan, Co Dublin, passed peacefully on March 15 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Catherine is the beloved wife of Vincent and much-loved mother of Conor, Daniel and Kate. Adored daughter of Pat and Bernie and loved sister of Tom, Michael, Patrick and Mark.

She is sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughter, mother, father, brothers, mother-in-law Mary, extended family, and many friends.

Tributes paid on RIP.ie this week included: “Heartfelt condolences to Catherine's family. Such a wonderful, friendly gentle woman taken far too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace.”

And: “Your kindness to me will never be forgotten Catherine. And you could make me laugh at a time when no one else could. I’m so sorry to all your family.”

While another mourner wrote: “Dear Bernie and Pat and all Catherine's brothers, Vincent and children, all Catherine first cousins and family, so very sad to hear about Catherine. I was so lucky to have had such a great friend growing up who was loyal, honest, kind, very witty, beautiful inside and out and could knit you anything, listen and advise you and always had time for a chat and will always remember our youth and friendship. I will always love you dear Catherine, rest in peace and sincere condolences to all your loved ones x.”

And another added: “My sincere condolences to Bernie, Pat and Family on the passing of your beloved and treasured daughter and sister Catherine. Sincere condolences also to Vincent, Conor Daniel and Kate on the loss of your beloved wife and mother. May Catherine sleep in Heavenly Peace.”

May she rest in peace.
