A Kildare man has been fondly remembered as a “wonderful father, grandfather and brother” and a “great family man.”
Thomas (Tom) Hickey from Bullhill House, Calverstown, Kilcullen, Kildare passed on June 22 last peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband of the late Eileen, much loved father of Sandra, Ciaran, Majella, Michael, Alma and Tommy.

Cherished brother of Micháel and Joe, the late Baby Michael, John, Rosarie and Pat.
He will be sadly missed by his daughers-in-law Elaine and Kiera, sons-in-law Joe, Enda and Eóin. Adored grandfather of Padraic, Caoimhe, Cormac, Eoin, Zara, Colm, Aidan, Lia, Robin, Bobby and Finn. Tom will be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Tributes paid to Tom on RIP.ie this week include: “Deepest sympathies to Ciaran and the extended Hickey family on the passing of Tom. May he rest in peace.”
And: “Deepest sympathies to all the Hickey Family and to Ciaran on the passing of Tom, RIP.”
While another mourner wrote: “Always a pleasure to meet Tom with his witty turn of phrase. Deepest condolences to Micheal, Joe and all of Tom's family. May he now rest in God's eternal peace.”
And another added: “Our sincere condolences to Sandra, Ciaran, Majella, Mikey, Alma, Tommy, Micheal and Joe and extended family on the sad passing of Tom, a wonderful father, grandfather and brother. He was a great family man and very proud of all of you, may he rest in peace.”
Reposing at his daughter Sandra’s residence in Ballybarney (R14ED79) on Tuesday the 24th of June from 3pm to 8pm with concluding prayers at 7.45pm.

Funeral arriving to The Church of SS Mary and Laurence, Crookstown (R14WD80) on Wednesday for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
